Today was a busy day in ministry for FBC! This morning, WOM filled Thanksgiving baskets and presented them to shut-ins. The baskets were filled with lots of goodies-homemade cookies and brownies, lotions, candies, crackers, and varied fruit. Plans were made for Week of Prayer for Foreign Missions. Be on the lookout for another cookie distribution following Sunday morning services…don’t forget to make your Lottie Moon offering soon!!! This evening, the Children’s ministry hosted a record crowd for the Thanksgiving Feast. Students and families were served a delicious meal. Linda Smith and her kitchen crew have done an outstanding job this fall preparing meals for our students. Thank you to the ones who served and the ones who came to fellowship and make our guests feel welcome.
The RAs & GAs packed shoeboxes tonight for Samaritan’s Purse . Items for the shoeboxes were collected through Sunday School classes the last few weeks. The boxes will be taken to the Distribution Center in a few days where they will be packed in crates to be shipped all over the world.
We had a great day volunteering at the Abilene Food Bank. Twelve of us worked from 9:00-noon sorting and packing boxes that will be distributed to community food banks including the one in De Leon. Our local food bank will be awarded credit for our volunteer hours this morning.
